In the year 1995, Larry Page & Sergey Brin started working together on a search engine called BACKRUB.BackRub operated Stanford servers for more than a year-eventually taking up too much bandwidth at the university fits so, two years later, Larry and Sergey decided that the BackRub search engine has a new name.
They want to keep a new name for that process. After some brainstorming and lot of thinking, they go with Google-a play on the word "googol" , it is a mathematical term for the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros. The use of the term reflects their mission to organize the web. Seemingly infinite amount of information.
The purpose of SEO is that, "To get your webpage a top position in a search engine" . This is only achieved through SEO only. Therefore do SEO to get your webpage top listed in a search engine.
